픽셀 김 개인전 《꿈의 공간과 또는 알람의 시간공간》
2026년 6월, 푸른 여름 하늘을 향해 솟아 있는 두 지붕 아래에서 픽셀 김의 개인전 《꿈의 공간과 또는 알람의 시간공간》이 펼쳐집니다.
작은 점의 행과 열로 이루어진 화면의 단위, ‘픽셀’.
셀 김에게 픽셀은 단순한 단위를 넘어 일상적인 언어 소통의 한계를 뛰어넘기 위한 그만의 특별한 조형 언어입니다. 작가는 기존의 규격화된 틀에서 벗어나 자신만의 시선과 감각으로 픽셀을 새롭게 창조하고, 일상의 경험과 감정을 소화하여 시각적으로 재구성합니다.
강원도 홍천에서 열리는 이번 전시는 2015년 첫 개인전 이후 10여 년간 작가의 예술 세계가 어떻게 성장하고 확장됐는지 다각도에서 살펴볼 수 있는 자리입니다. 작가의 활발한 실험이 이루어지는 작업실에서 출발해 초기작부터 최근작까지 폭넓게 아우릅니다. 시기마다 다르게 나타나는 픽셀의 형태와 선율이 느껴지는 드로잉, 과감한 색채의 변주를 통해 작가가 느껴 온 순수한 시각적 즐거움을 관객과 함께 나눌 수 있기를 기대합니다.
작가가 자신의 작업실을 떠올리며 직접 지은 전시 제목 《꿈의 공간과 또는 알람의 시간공간》에는 수많은 꿈과 기억을 기록하며, 자신만의 규칙과 리듬을 따라 살아가는 삶과 작업 방식이 오롯이 담겨 있습니다.
문화공간 손탁과 홍천미술관에서 동시에 진행되는 본 전시에서 픽셀 김이 만들어 온 특별한 시공간으로 여러분을 초대합니다.

In June 2026, Pixel Kim’s solo exhibition, “The Space of Dreams, and the Spacetime of Alarms”, will take place beneath two roofs soaring toward the blue summer sky.
A “pixel” is a unit on a screen composed of rows and columns of tiny dots.
For Pixel Kim, the pixel transcends a mere unit; it is his unique visual language designed to break through the limitations of everyday verbal communication. Breaking free from conventional, standardized frameworks, the artist reimagines the pixel through his own perspective and sensibilities, digesting everyday experiences and emotions to visually reconstruct them.
Held in Hongcheon, Gangwon Province, this exhibition offers a multifaceted look at how the artist’s artistic world has grown and expanded over the past decade since his first solo exhibition in 2015. Beginning in the artist’s studio—a hub of active experimentation—the exhibition broadly encompasses works ranging from his early pieces to his most recent creations. We hope to share with the audience the pure visual joy the artist has experienced through drawings that evoke the ever-changing forms and rhythms of pixels across different periods, as well as through bold variations in color.
The exhibition title, “The Space of Dreams, and the Spacetime of Alarms”, which the artist coined while reflecting on her studio, fully encapsulates her way of life and artistic practice—one that records countless dreams and memories while following her own rules and rhythms.
Held simultaneously at Sontag Cultural Space and the Hongcheon Art Museum, this exhibition invites you into the unique spacetime created by Pixel Kim.
